Understanding Supplement Interactions
Supplement interactions can affect safety, absorption, and effectiveness. This tool checks four types of interactions across your supplement list.
What We Check:
- Conflicts: Supplements that may interfere with each other's absorption or effectiveness
- Synergies: Supplements that enhance each other when taken together
- Timing Issues: Supplements that need to be taken at different times of day
- Absorption: Bioavailability factors and absorption dependencies
Tips for Safe Supplementation:
- Start new supplements one at a time to identify potential issues
- Space conflicting supplements by at least 2-4 hours
- Take fat-soluble supplements (D, E, K, CoQ10) with a meal containing fat
- Iron and calcium compete for absorption — take them separately
- Consult a healthcare provider before starting any new supplement regimen
