The Radical American Left: Bernie Sanders

The Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) was February 10th through 12th.  There was a lot of trash talking about the current American President and the Democratic Party.  Dick Cheney, Andrew Breitbart, David Horowitz, Ann Coulter, Sen. Ron Paul, George Will and Newt Gingrich were among the list of prolific speakers.  Instead of trashing the litany of reactionary comments that proliferated this conference, I decided to focus on their true enemy:  The Radical Left in America.

Senator Bernie Sanders of Vermont
Senator Bernie Sanders of Vermont

The Radical Left in America consists of Bernie Sanders. Of course, I’m talking about contemporary politicians, as the list of Far Left politicians in American history was much longer prior to the Cold War.  Today, the list is much shorter, beginning and ending with the United States Senator of Vermont, Bernie Sanders.  Let us look at how radical and oppressive is this Socialist:  Senator Sanders.

(This is not a comprehensive biography, nor an authoritative study of Senator Sanders.  Simply a basic overview.)

Bernie Sanders was born to Polish Jewish parents in Brooklyn in 1941.  He received a B.A. in Political Science from University of Chicago in 1964.  Sanders than went to Israel and spent time on a Kibbutz before moving to Vermont.  He entered politics in 1971 when he joined the anti-Vietnam movement of the Liberty Union Party.  The Liberty Union Party was a non-violent socialist movement, a People’s Party.  Sanders left the Liberty Union Party in 1979.  He ran for Mayor of Burlington and won.

Sanders ran for Governor of Vermont several times before winning a seat in the House in 1990.  He was a member of the house from January 3, 1991 to January 3, 2007.  Bernie Sanders was elected to Senate in 2006 and assumed office January 3, 2007.

Now, let’s take a look at this anti-American socialist plot by the American Left to destroy the state of the Union… and how the current administration is propagating this cause.

Workers Of The World, Unite!

“Who are the oppressors? The few: the King, the capitalist, and a handful of other overseers and superintendents. Who are the oppressed? The many: the nations of the earth; the valuable personages; the workers; they that make the bread that the soft-handed and idle eat.”

~ Mark Twain

Labor day was made a federal holiday after the Pullman Strike.  It was a national strike of railway workers.  The Pullman Strike ended in a bit of tragedy.  The President sent the National Guard and US Marshals to end the strike.  Death and injury resulted, as well as large amounts of property damage.  Eugene V. Debs led the strike.  He was eventually incarcerated on a minor charge.  It was while in jail that Debs read the works of Karl Marx.  Debs became a socialist and ran for President in 1900.

Those who produce should have, but we know that those who produce the most – that is, those who work hardest, and at the most difficult and most menial tasks, have the least.

~ Eugene V. Debs

We owe a lot to these organizers, of unions and protests, in the 19th and 20th centuries.  It was these brave people who stood up to corporate thuggery and government force.  They paved the way for workplace safety standards, fair wages, fair conditions, and many other labor laws that save thousands of lives every year.

While there is a lower class, I am in it, while there is a criminal element, I am of it, and while there is a soul in prison, I am not free.

~ Eugene V. Debs

Today is Labor Day.  Let us not forget what “Labor” means in Labor Day.  It means the worker.  Labor day is not “Production Day.”  It was a national holiday created in support of the labor that keeps society going.

It’s A Mad Mad Mad Mad World.

The world is pretty crazy right now.  To all of my readers overseas, let us examine what is really going on:

In America, we know that “gay marriage” is a terrible thing.  We have to ban it.  This “sacred institution” needs to be preserved.  We need this institution.  It was started as a means to subjugate women.  What could be more important?  First we let gay people get married, and then we have to figure out: Who is the husband?  Which one owns the other one?  Who gets to take most of the money in the divorce? We might even have to make wedding cakes with two brides on the top.

Sex with goats. That has a lot of gray area.  Florida recently failed to ban beastiality, and it is a good thing too.  I mean, how do we know if the animal is consenting or not?  Do not let this cloud your judgment, though.  If men like having sex with men, it does not matter if it is consensual.  They need to do it the good, old fashioned way:  In a sleazy hotel with a lot of crystal meth, preferably with a male hooker or employee.  If you are in a hurry, you could always just jerk each other off in the restroom.  But to actually live with someone that you love and share in their life is unacceptable if you are the same gender.  (Gay women should not be allowed to marry, but we don’t want to talk about it too much, because all the straight men will get erections thinking about it, although, lesbians never have mullets and skull tattoos in heterosexual lesbian fantasies.)

These are important issues, not like the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico.  The Governor of Texas let us know that the oil spill was “God’s will” and that “nothing could have been done about it.” When I farted in the elevator last week, that was God’s will, too.  Hurricane Katrina was also God’s will.  And the Earthquake in Haiti was “God’s will.”  This is not important.  What is important is covering up the cartoon breast on the seal of the State of Virginia.  This is a much more pressing issue then the coal mines that collapsed next door.  The State of Virginia is also currently celebrating their loss in the War of Northern Aggression.  They do not want to be concerned with trivial issues like slavery, but want to delve into the spirit of what caused them to lose the war against the United States government and be forced to have a tit on their state seal.

People from Mexico coming into the United States has nothing to do with “God.”  Illegal immigrants are another big issue.  Everyone is concerned.  The people on the Right are so outraged that Mexican children are working in the fields and building their houses with no workplace standards, they want to enact an Apartheid system.  Apparently, it is much easier to get a nanny from China or Africa and beat her into submission, because she can’t just leave.  The people on the Left are all worked up about illegal immigration, too.  They claim that “no one is illegal” even when they are not legal.  Everyone has a very strong stance on the issue and are consumed with the details so much that they don’t have time to actually look at what is going on in Mexico.  While the drug cartels are assassinating the entire government of Mexico, we have so much to worry about, like sex with goats, gay marriages, and abortion.

The abortion issue is currently a big deal because of Universal Healthcare.  Apparently, the President passed a bill that provides Universal Healthcare.  This is terrible.  It is so terrible, that people logically loaded their guns and marched on National and State capitals.  (I know that it shouldn’t even need to be said.  Whenever I think about healthcare, my first response is to load my assault rifle.)  These people know what is really going on, the things that are not written anywhere.  They can read between the lines:

First we let gays marry, and then we give poor people preventative healthcare, and the slippery slope starts… next thing you know, everyone is being forced into gay marriages and Communist death panels start deciding who is getting a gay  abortion.  Meanwhile, God is dumping oil along the coastline, so you have to have sex with your goats farther inland… no animal sex on the beach.

We also have a Black President with a funny name.  This means he is a follower of Marx, a Muslim, a Communist, a Black Nationalist, a Socialist, the Anti-Christ, a Zionist and a black Stalin/Mao/Castro.  He is NOT, under any circumstances Se Seko Mobutu.  Mobutu may have caused the death of half a million people a year, but he was not a Communist and all of those people were Black Africans, so they were probably going to die in a year or so anyway.  (We all know that is all that happens in Africa… people kill each other, or get a disease, and die – while the noble animals are all sitting around discussing important issues, like what people to have sex with and not letting gay animals have married abortions.)  This Communist President bailed out private automotive industries to help them keep people employed.  He also bailed out banks and financial institutions.  He did not nationalize these institutions, because he does not want to show his hand yet… the Communist Conspiracy of Kenya. The Need For Cohesion

[I have already discussed on the Left in the United States is really pretty "center Right" in the global scheme of politics.  But for the sake of this piece, we will consider the Democratic Party the "center Left."  Although I find this problematic, I just have to accept it.  Considering the Right (GOP) is farther right then the DNC, we will consider the Democratic Party to be "Left."]

Yesterday, I mentioned that I was not happy with Adsense, displaying ads such as Newsmax and anti-minorities links.  I logged into Facebook yesterday, and there was an advert to “remember in November” to “stop Obama and Obamacare.”  I don’t have a problem with allowing the Conservatives to advertise their views.  Quite contrarily, I agree with it.  Everyone should be given a venue to espouse whatever concept they wish.  (I did go to UC Berkeley, and even enjoyed the elderly, black man that would scream “Jesus wants you to be a racist!”,  the man who would scream about the Jewish Armageddon that was about to descend upon us, or the man with the anti-petrol sign that would just say to everyone “Your mother loves you.”)  But, I see these massive campaigns against the Democratic party, and all leftists.  Someone is feeding the Tea Party a steady stream of propaganda (Fox).  On the left, there is no cohesion.

You have the center-Left Democrats, that support a more Keynesian economic platform, than a Hobbesian “Free Market.”  You also have various Socialists, Communists, Marxists, Anarchists, and whatever other “Left” leaning ideology you can imagine.  None of these groups work together.  The Democratic Party wants no association with Ultra-Left ideology.  So, everyone left of center ends up a “marginalized fringe.”

Farther, there is no cohesion within the Ultra-Left.  The Socialists won’t work with the Marxists or the Communists.  The Black Nationalists won’t work with any other Socialists, Marxists, Communists, Anarchists, etc.  It all goes on, because everyone gets hung up on minutia.

The problem with this is that many of the primary goals of ALL of these groups is the same.  Fair labor rules, fair market regulation, equality under the law, equality in the workplace, elimination of poverty, healthcare for every citizen.  (These are just key issues, but I find there are many, many more commonalities.)  Do the Marxists want to marginalize the Latinos in America?  Surely not.  If anything, the Marxists and Socialists care just as much about fair labor rules for Latino/Chicano laborers as any other group, maybe more.  Do the Marxists or the Socialists promote racism?  Obviously not, how is that equality under the law?  Do the Anarchists support any inequalities at all?  Not in my experience.  Do the Democrats want more social stratification?  Less aid to the poor or impoverished families?  Does the DNC want less fair workplace environments, hiring policies and legal treatment?  I highly doubt it.

All of these groups have a common “enemy.”  I do not use “enemy” as a loaded term.  This is not a war.  This is not about violence, or any physical means of attack.  Its an ideological enemy.  Conservativism believes in aristocracy, class stratification, unfettered corporate progress and a “free market.”  EVERYONE on the left opposes these things.  Why can’t everyone on the Left stand against these things?  Why can’t the DNC ask the rest of the Left for support?  Well, there is one reason.

McCarthyism, and the Cold War in general, did a number of the American psyche and created memes against keywords.  As soon as the word “Socialist” or “Communist” is espoused, the Tea Party loads their guns.  The pundits on Fox and Friends decide to launch an all out attack to tear them down, and the DNC ultimately loses votes.  I understand this problem and empathize with it.  But, I really need to say, “so what?”

Pay for advertisements to explain that you don’t care if it is considered “socialist” to do something, because it is what is fair.  Explain that your goal is govern, not run a business.  Our rights are not a corporate “mission statement.”  There is no profit motive for guaranteeing equal rights under the law, the freedom to assemble, freedom of movement, freedom of speech, etc. Get the Anarchists and the Socialists and the Communists and everyone else in the Ultra-Left to support you.  Any Socialist or Marxist can explain plenty of things FOR you.  They will be the first to point out they are anti-fascism.  (Fascism is far right – this is a fact, and as debatable as gravity.)  They will also be the first to point out they are not Left Liberals.  They also can be valuable allies.

To everyone else on the Ultra-Left:  Stop fighting over ideological bullshit while your primary goals are being squandered. If you truly believe you are right, would you rather convince the Democrats that you are right, or a Tea Party rally?  Who is going to benefit you more?  If you want to promote Black Nationalism, is that ever going to happen with the GOP in power?  With the Tea Party roving around Virginia with loaded weapons?  If you are a proponent of a Socialist economy, are you ever going to convince the Far Right this is plausible?  Would you rather they be in charge?  Your lack of support for the Democratic Party is only hurting you, and everyone else.  Your fragmentation only farther marginalizes you and makes you irrelevant.  You are becoming your own worst enemy.
