Sighed Effects

The dictionary defines a sigh as feeling longing, yearning, or grief.

Sighed Effects was created as a result of the grief and yearning that accompany the modern state of political discourse. Complex situations have been reduced to sound bites and catch phrases.   Solutions are comprised of assumptions and simplistic analogy.

This site was started out of a longing for a true dialectic to discuss real topics, rather then the catch phrases that summarise complex situations.  The reality is that many issues are multifaceted and cannot be summarised into a clever pun.

This is not a “news site.”  There is seldom any “breaking news” on this site.  (Although, if you have some breaking news that you feel needs to be disseminated, feel free to forward it to the editor to have it published.)  Some topics are as old as antiquity on this site.  Other topics are pulled directly from the headlines.  The common thread is that they are all issues that need more than a single line slogan to define the issue.

This site could be considered educational.  But all information on this site is accountable to no one.  There is no higher authority on the content of this site.  Therefore, it is nothing more than editorial.

This site is not party-line or ideologically specific.  There is no official party line for Sighed Effects.  There is no one, central political ideology that is being endorsed by this site.

To claim an idea as your own, you must first be able to defend it.

As the main contributor to this site, most of my editorials are rough drafts and typically are in desperate need of severe editing.  (If you wish to edit them, feel free, grammar and other corrections will always be applied when warranted.) When I write an entry, what is posted is what I have just written. For this reason, not only do spelling and grammatical errors abound, but some concepts are not properly explained.

In the same spirit of this site, I will likely revisit specific entries, and rewrite them as necessary. It is highly unlikely that I will be able to concisely explain a vantage on the first try. My attempt is to find the best way to espouse an idea, or to defend a concept so that I may know that I truly believe that concept.

Comment responses are done completely impromptu and therefore may contain more grammatic errors than even I find acceptable.  I will try to respond to any valid comment.  No comments will be rejected because of ideology.  If you feel your comment was marked as spam, please contact me (the site) and it will be corrected.

This site has minimal advertisements.  If there is an ad on this site, it may be out of endorsement of a person or product, or it may be simply to make a few cents, or it may just be because something may be helpful to others.

As I travel to and from England and the United States, sometimes dates and grammar will be in UK English and other times it will be in American English.  This is because of the Autocorrect function on my computer.

The one (and only) thing I can promise on this site, is that I will never be happy with a dialogue of catch phrases and sound bites.

I would like to add… or beg… please refrain from slurs. They accomplish nothing and just push me towards the need to regulate comments… I really don’t want to do this, but I cannot let defamatory comments remain all over my own website… I personally find ethnic, racial or gender slurs to be in bad taste. (Sometimes bad taste does prove a point, but not something I want to see all the time.)

Honestly? after browsing your site, and reading your ‘bio’ – you are really trying way too damn hard.

Am I trying too hard, or not hard enough? (I think I’m lacking context.)

I think, honestly, that I do not try hard enough. I do not spend nearly enough time composing what I write. My entries are typically too verbose and unorganized. I also tend to go off topic and cover a wide range of topics that tend to lack focus. I do understand this… it is something I intend to work on as I work on this site.

Thanks for your publiction. Another issue is that to be a photographer entails not only problem in capturing award-winning photographs but hardships in establishing the best dslr camera suited to your needs and most especially problems in maintaining the caliber of your camera. This can be very genuine and visible for those photography enthusiasts that are straight into capturing a nature’s exciting scenes : the mountains, the actual forests, the wild or perhaps the seas. Going to these amazing places undoubtedly requires a camera that can surpass the wild’s nasty settings.
